A long-haired, heavy-bearded and visibly buffed up Vicky Kaushal looks unrecognizable as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in the first-look posters of Amar Kaushik’s upcoming film Mahavatar, dropped by the makers on Wednesday.

“Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma. Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik,” wrote Maddock Films on Instagram, sharing a motion poster of the film backed by Dinesh Vijan. Dinesh is known for bankrolling films like Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (2024), Munjya (2024) and Stree 2 (2024).

Set to a dynamic background score, the poster features Vicky Kaushal in a fierce, never-before-seen avatar. His chiselled physique, bushy moustache, rugged beard and thick, flowing locks styled in a matted bun highlight the spiritual strength and cosmic energy his character embodies.

Tulsi beads adorn his arms and wrists and he also wields an axe. Blazing fires in the background hint at a pulse-pounding narrative and set the stage for a character driven by both primal force and spiritual depth.

Slated to hit theatres on Christmas 2026, the film is likely to go on floors next year.

Justin Varghese has composed the music for Mahavatar.

On the work front, Vicky is set to headline Laxman Utekar’s upcoming historical biopic Chhaava. He will also share screen space with Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s epic drama Love & War, set to release theatrically on March 20, 2026.
