Bollywood actor Vicky Kaushal, currently basking in the success of Sam Bahadur, has become the first Indian celebrity to be followed by Instagram’s official account on the social media platform.
With a massive following of 16.7 million on Instagram, Vicky is now among the 81 accounts Instagram’s official handle follows. The official Instagram account boasts 665 million followers, the highest on the platform.
The Instagram honour comes at the end of an eventful year for Vicky. He starred alongside Sara Ali Khan in the romantic comedy Zara Hatke Zara Bachke, which crossed the Rs 100-crore mark globally, in the beginning of 2023. Although his next big-screen outing, The Great Indian Family, was not a box-office success, Vicky was appreciated for his performance in the film.
The crowning jewel of Vicky’s year was the portrayal of India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw, in the Meghna Gulzar-heled biopic Sam Bahadur, which achieved significant commercial success by crossing the Rs 100-crore milestone at the global box office.
Closing the year on a high note, Vicky made a special appearance in Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan and Taapsee Pannu. The comedy drama has already minted Rs 157 crore gross worldwide in four days.
In 2024, Vicky Kaushal is gearing up for his next project, a romantic comedy titled Mere Mehboob Mere Sanam, to be directed by Anand Tiwari, alongside Animal actress Triptii Dimri.
