Vicky Kaushal and Sara Ali Khan’s Zara Hatke Zara Bachke managed to ward off tough competition from Prabhas-Kriti Sanon’s Adipurush with a collection worth Rs 72.5 crore nett at the end of its third week, according to Box Office India reports.

Directed by Laxman Utekar, the romcom collected around Rs 5.5 crore nett on its opening day on June 2. The film went on to rake in Rs 37.35 crore nett in the first week. The collection, however, dropped by 30 per cent in the second week to Rs 25.65 crore nett.

Also featuring Inaamulhaq, Sushmita Mukherjee, Neeraj Sood, Rakesh Bedi and Sharib Hashmi, Zara Hatke Zara Bachke earned Rs 1.08 crore nett on Friday, Rs 1.89 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 2.34 crore nett on Sunday. The earnings dropped to Rs 1.08 crore nett and Rs 0.99 crore nett on Monday and Tuesday, respectively. However, the film picked up pace again on Wednesday and Thursday, minting Rs 1.08 crore nett on both days.

Zara Hatke Zara Bachke revolves around a married couple — Kapil (Vicky) and Somya (Sara) — who want a house of their own. They get a divorce to qualify for a house under a government scheme. However, a tragic turn of events complicates matters for the young couple.
