The makers of Rajinikanth-starrer Vettaiyan dropped a prevue of the film on Friday. Directed by TJ Gnanavel, known for Jai Bhim, the film marks a reunion of Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan, who share the screen together for the first time in 32 years.

“WATCHOUT! The VETTAIYAN Prevue is Out Now! The hunt is ON! #Vettaiyan Releasing on 10th October in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi & Kannada,” Lyca Productions wrote on X along with the prevue.

The teaser introduces a stellar cast that includes Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati and Manju Warrier in pivotal roles. With music composed by Anirudh Ravichander, Veittaiyan revolves around the moral dilemmas surrounding police encounters.

The prevue features Rajinikanth’s character advocating for police encounters as a means of social justice. Amitabh’s character, Sathyadev, expresses concern about the glorification of such actions as heroism. This ideological conflict between the two icons sets the stage for a thought-provoking storyline.

While the prevue effectively highlights the dynamics between Rajinikanth and Amitabh, details regarding the characters played by Rana Daggubati and Fahadh Faasil remain under wraps.

This is not Rajinikanth’s first portrayal of a police officer. He donned the khaki uniform most recently in Jailer (2023).

Produced by Lyca Productions, Vettaiyan is scheduled to release on October 10, marking Rajinikanth’s 170th film. The film will release in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi.
