Vettaiyan makers Lyca Productions have dropped a series of short videos introducing the characters portrayed by the ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, and Manju Warrier ahead of the Rajinikanth-headlined film’s October 10 release.
On Thursday, it was revealed that Amitabh Bachchan will be portraying a character named Sathyadev in his film that marks his Tamil cinema debut. “Meet the powerhouse of VETTAIYAN. Introducing @SrBachchan as SATHYADEV. Get ready to witness his groundbreaking performance,” wrote the makers alongside a video featuring behind-the-scenes moments from the sets.
Aavesham actor Fahadh Faasil will portray the role of Patrick in the film. The clip shared by the makers features Fahadh engaging in serious discussions with the filmmakers. He is also seen sharing a moment with Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan. The caption reads, “Get ready to enjoy the vibrant energy of #FahadhFaasil as PATRICK in VETTAIYAN Brace yourself for an intriguing character!”
On Tuesday, the makers dropped a video introducing Malayalam actress Manju Warrier as vlogger Thara in the film. “Meet the heart and soul of VETTAIYAN Introducing @ManjuWarrier4 as THARA A pillar of strength and elegance,” the caption read.
Actor Rana Daggubati, who also joins the ensemble cast of Vettaiyan, will play Natraj in the film. The makers shared a clip introducing the actor’s character alongside a video of Daggubati meeting Rajinikanth and preparing for his roles. The caption read, “Meet the formidable force in VETTAIYAN Introducing @RanaDaggubati as NATRAJ Get set to witness a gripping performance.”
The film also stars Ritika Singh, who is set to portray a police officer named Roopa. Raayan actor Dushara Vijayan will take on the role of a teacher named Saranya in the film.
Helmed by TJ Gnanavel, Vettaiyan marks the fifth collaboration between Rajinikanth and composer Anirudh Ravichander following Petta, Darbar, and Jailer. Anirudh is also composing the music for Coolie, Rajinikanth’s upcoming film with Lokesh Kanagaraj.
