Tom Hardy’s Eddie Brock and his symbiotic alter ego Venom are on the run after aliens from the latter’s home planet trace their location on earth in the trailer of Venom: The Last Dance, the final instalment of the Venom franchise, dropped by the makers on Monday.

The three-minute-14-second-long trailer kicks off with Eddie entering a lair of criminals. As the goons try to attack him, Eddie transforms himself into the alien symbiote Venom. After killing them, he struggles to adapt to Venom inside him.

Set to David Bowie’s 1969 song Space Oddity, the subsequent scenes show Eddie running from enemies chasing him. Ted Lasso star Juno Temple and Doctor Strange actor Chiwetel Ejiofor also feature in the trailer. Towards the end of the video, we can see aliens from Venom’s home planet invading earth and searching for Eddie.

The trailer makes fans anticipate an ultimate showdown between Eddie and the aliens. It ends with Eddie mounting a horse which turns into a Venom-like creature.

“Eddie and Venom are on the run. Hunted by both of their worlds and with the net closing in, the duo are forced into a devastating decision that will bring the curtains down on Venom and Eddie's last dance,” reads the synopsis of the upcoming film on IMDb.

Written and directed by Kelly Marcel, Venom: The Last Dance promises to dig deeper into the complex relationship between Eddie and Venom.

Also starring Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, Cristo Fernandez and Stephen Graham, Venom: The Last Dance will hit theatres in October.
