Venom 3, a sequel to Venom: Let There Be Carnage and the third instalment of the superhero film series, has resumed production following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strikes on November 8, actor Tom Hardy confirmed on Friday.
Sharing a behind-the-scenes picture from the sets of Venom 3 on Friday, Hardy wrote on Instagram, “V3N0M 3, The Last dance - thankfully we are back to shooting; and I want to take a moment just to thank all the teams thus far on the ride from V1 to here all our fantastic Cast and crew- good friends and family - we’ve come a long way - it’s been and continues to be a lot of fun.”
Praising his co-stars and crew for their whole-hearted support, the 46-year-old actor also wrote, “There’s always hard turns to burn when we work but it doesn't feel as hard when you love what you do and when you know you have great material and the support at all sides of a great team. surrounded by talented and passionate departments and when surrounded by people you love and care about it doesn’t get any better.”
Hardy, who plays the main protagonist in the film franchise, also heaped praise on Venom director and screenwriter Kelly Marcel. “I want to mention very briefly how proud of my Director, writing partner and dear friend Kelly Marcel I am. watching you taking the helm on this one fills me with pride, it is an honour. Trust, your gut, your instincts are always spot on. First class - I back you. 💯 %. As always,” he wrote at the end of his note..
Though it is clear that Hardy will be reprising his role as journalist Eddie Brock, accompanied by his parasitic sidekick Venom, in Sony and Marvel’s Venom 3, the plot of the upcoming movie has been kept under wraps.
Owing to the writers’ and actors’ strikes in Hollywood, Venom 3 had earlier received a revised release date of July 12, 2024.
