Actor Varun Dhawan, who turned 37 today, has dropped pictures of his birthday celebration with family. In a note alongside the photos on social media, he acknowledged the importance of retaining one’s intrinsic qualities while growing up and learning with age.
“Growing, learning and yet trying to stay the same thank u for all the wonderful wishes and love. P.S - I ate very lil bit of that cake,” wrote Varun on Instagram, adding that he is about to start filming for a new movie very soon.
The pictures show Varun in a black-and-white striped vest posing with his birthday cake. The carousel also features the actor’s mother Laali Dhawan. The birthday decorations include a metallic label, candles and flowers.
Varun’s Jug Jugg Jeeyo co-stars Kiara Advani and Prajakta Koli took to Instagram to extend their wishes to the actor on his special day. “Happy Birthday VD. I love you,” wrote Prajakta alongside a picture of her embracing the Bawaal actor. Kiara, on the other hand, shared a video of her singing the song Are Are Are with Varun inside a car. "Happy Birthday VeeDee. Keep singing, keep smiling, Jug Jugg Jeeyo my friend," Kiara captioned her post.
Manushi Chhillar, Rohit Saraf, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra also wished the Bhediya actor on his 37th birthday. Sharing a picture with Varun on his Instagram stories, Arjun Kapoor wrote, “Happy Birthday VD in 3D! Is saal Baby at home & Baby John in theatres. It’s your time Baby.”
Crew star Kriti Sanon dropped unseen pictures with the birthday boy. “I love how our friendship has evolved over the years into this beautiful bond that I know will last forever. Always there for you, feeling proud every time you shine, knowing you’ve got my back like I’ve got yours,” read Kriti’s note for Varun on Instagram.
Varun’s Citadel: Honey Bunny co-star Samantha Ruth Prabhu shared a photo of herself at a cafe with Varun. The two are seen indulging in a piece of cake and some playful banter. “Happy happy birthday @varundvn. Hoping you have a fantastic year ahead. Sending lots of love your way, my friend,” Samantha wrote alongside the picture on Instagram.
Varun will soon be seen in Kalees’s upcoming action thriller Baby John alongside Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, Jackie Shroff and Sanya Malhotra. Production house Jio Studios dropped a new poster of the film on his birthday.
Varun, who essays the titular role in the film, sports long hair and a bearded look in the poster. Baby John is slated to release in theatres on May 31.

Varun has many projects in the pipeline. In addition to Baby John, the actor is set to headline Dharma Productions’ Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari opposite Janhvi Kapoor. Varun is awaiting the premiere of his OTT series Citadel: Honey Bunny, also starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu. He will also appear in Prime Video’s upcoming web series Call Me Bae alongside Ananya Panday.
The actor and his wife Natasha Dalal are expecting their first child. The couple hosted a baby shower on Sunday, which was attended by Shahid Kapoor’s wife Mira Rajput Kapoor.
