After months of relentless giggles, awkward celebrity flirting, and Krushna Abhishek’s inability to keep a straight face, The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2 signed off in true Kapil style: with chaos, laughter, and a dash of Varun Dhawan’s dance moves that could make even disco balls feel insecure.
Varun was joined by the team of Baby John: actresses Keerthy Suresh, Wamiqa Gabbi, producer Atlee and director Kalees. The episode was packed with stars, jokes (some recycled), and a few moments that left us questioning how Kapil's team still manages to break their own characters and keep us laughing anyway.
The finale kicked off with Jawan vibes as Sunil Grover strutted onto the stage, channeling his inner Shah Rukh Khan in full swag mode. Dressed like a budget SRK with a sprinkle of Grover madness, he set the tone for an evening of unpredictability. Enter Varun Dhawan, who, true to form, performed an intense, glass-shattering dance routine. His energy was so contagious that even Kapil briefly considered joining in, before remembering that his cardio maxes out at cracking one-liners.
Next up, Krushna Abhishek and Kiku Sharda tried to channelise their comic A-game, but not before completely losing it during their own act. Dressed as Jaggu Dada and Tiger, they stumbled through their jokes and then abandoned the script altogether, breaking into fits of uncontrollable laughter that seemed to say, “Why write a punchline when we can just laugh at ourselves?” Sure, it’s an old trick, but much like that one extra rasgulla you shouldn't eat but do anyway.
The show got real for a moment when Varun Dhawan opened up about his new role as a dad. “Fatherhood has transformed me,” Varun shared, looking equal parts proud and sleep-deprived. “Being a father to a daughter is a unique experience. It shakes you completely, making you realise how much your thinking changes. Having a daughter teaches you a lot about life and what actually being a man is.”
The audience let out a collective awwww while Atlee, the mastermind behind Varun’s next film Baby John, stood by nodding sagely. Of course, Kapil being Kapil, couldn’t resist throwing Varun into a “New Dad Challenge.” Watching Varun and Atlee attempt to change a diaper on stage was both hilarious and mildly terrifying.
But the laughs didn’t stop there. Kapil’s trademark flirting with Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi was, as always, delightfully cringe-worthy. And just when we thought the finale couldn’t get any zanier, Varun surprised everyone with a pole dance that had the audience hooting and Kapil questioning his career choices.
The evening wrapped up with Sunil Grover pulling a surprise second act as Mithun Da, complete with groovy moves, retro dialogues, and enough pelvic thrusts to leave everyone in stitches. By the end, even the guests were rolling with laughter, and Kapil’s team struggled to bring the madness to a close.
As Kapil signed off with his signature promise to return, we were left with one burning question: Will the jokes be new next season? Probably not. Will we still laugh? Er, maybe.
