Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) has launched the latest version of their Knight Club PLUS app with a promotional anthem sung by singer Usha Uthup.
“Usha se poocha HAAN HAAN POOCHA! KKR ke app ki kahani, Suno Usha didi ki zubani For Amader Fans, Amader Poribar - The All New Knight Club PLUS APP. Download NOW! ,” the official Instagram handle of the IPL team posted alongside the video.
The two-minute-17-second long video begins with Usha Uthup posing to be a fan disappointed with the KKR management. She then explains that the team owner Shah Rukh Khan, and director Venky Mysore, have come up with the solution to fan’s complaints — a brand new Knight Club PLUS app.
The app aims to enhance the fan experience by providing a platform for fans to connect, compete, and celebrate their allegiance to the Kolkata Knight Riders. Fans can earn rewards for various actions, including referring friends, engaging on social media, and participating in real-time competitions on the leaderboard. It also gives fans a chance to access exclusive videos and interact with the team players.
Usha Uthup, recently honoured with the Padma Bhushan, made headlines last month with her rendition of the Grammy-winning track, Flowers, at Trincas, an iconic restaurant in Kolkata. Her association with the Knight Club PLUS app adds an extra layer of star power to KKR's digital initiative, further enhancing its appeal to fans.
In addition to the app launch, KKR unveiled their new jersey ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season, scheduled to commence on March 22. KKR won the IPL title twice, in 2012 and 2014.
