Actress-writer Twinkle Khanna recently reminisced about her debut film Barsaat, taking fans on a trip down memory lane with then-and-now photos with Bobby Deol, who also broke into the industry with the 1995 film.
Twinkle, now 50, shared a recent selfie with Bobby on Instagram alongside old stills from Barsaat, expressing her excitement on meeting the actor after a long time.
“Kal and Aaj Kal. It’s not just Pinky Masi who is a @iambobbydeol fan, I am as thrilled to see him doing so well. Nostalgia has a sweet aftertaste, and it was fun catching up and waving out at renditions of who we once used to be,” Twinkle wrote alongside the Instagram carousel on Sunday.
In her caption, the author congratulated Bobby on his recent successes. The actor has been earning plaudits for his performance in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s latest film Animal, where he starred alongside Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Triptii Dimri and Anil Kapoor. Bobby portrayed the mute antagonist Abrar Haque in the action film, and his glass step set to his entry score Jamal Kudu went viral on social media.
The 55-year-old actor has several projects in the pipeline, including Siva’s fantasy action film Kanguva, which also marks his Tamil cinema debut. The film stars Suriya in a dual role. Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, Ravi Raghavendra, K. S. Ravikumar and B. S. Avinash also play key roles in the film.
Additionally, media reports suggest Bobby will play a villain in a yet-untitled film starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh.
Meanwhile, Twinkle's last film appearance was in Love Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega (2001). In 2015, she released her first non-fiction book Mrs Funnybones. Her subsequent books, The Legend of Lakshmi Prasad and Pyjamas Are Forgiving, contributed to her literary success, with the former inspiring the National Award-winning film Pad Man (2018). Twinkle's latest book Welcome to Paradise was released in 2023.
Twinkle is married to actor Akshay Kumar and they have two children together — a son Aarav and a daughter Nitara. Akshay and Bobby have also worked together in numerous films, including Ajnabee, Thank You and Housefull 4.
