Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will be released in India by Paramount Pictures today, in both English and Hindi. Helmed by Jeff Rowe and with a compelling storyline crafted by Seth Rogen, the film unveils a narrative that revolves around the Turtle siblings’ endeavour to capture the affections of New Yorkers. After a prolonged period of seclusion from the human realm, they aspire to secure recognition as ordinary adolescents through valiant acts. With the aid of their newfound ally, April O’Neil, they confront a criminal syndicate. However, their circumstances swiftly escalate as they find themselves entangled in a predicament involving a relentless onslaught of mutant adversaries.

Talking about his childhood memories of Ninja Turtles, Rowe says: “Turtles is the first thing I ever loved as a kid, the first thing I remember being a fan of.” He credits his time spent playing with his Turtles toys as an essential part of forming the person he is today. “I spent a lot of time alone in my room with these toys. It was an invitation to a world, to a whole fleshed-out universe that I could get lost in. It really imprinted on me at a young age. So many of my tastes and so much of my sense of humour comes from back then.”

Among those closely connected to the Turtles, none surpasses TMNT creator Kevin Eastman in terms of familiarity. Eastman’s relationship with the fans and the Turtles themselves runs deep. “The fans are insanely awesome to the point of humbling,” Eastman says. “It transcends so many languages and cultures and they found something they love about these characters. It never goes away.” As the Turtles co-creator and a man who has seen them transform so many times over the years, Eastman couldn’t be happier with what everyone has achieved with Mutant Mayhem. “It’s big and loud and proud,” he says. “These guys nailed it.”

In addition to Jackie Chan’s portrayal of Splinter, the film boasts an ensemble cast of vocal talents, including John Cena, Post Malone, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Brady Noon and Maya Rudolph.
