Actress Trisha Krishnan is set to make her OTT debut with the Telugu investigative thriller series Brinda, a Surya Vangala directorial that will stream on SonyLIV from August 2, the streamer announced on Monday alongside a teaser.
“Brace yourselves, thriller fans. Trisha is coming up with her OTT debut in a gripping new series. Stream #Brinda in all the major languages only on Sony LIV from August 2,” the official handle of SonyLIV posted on X alongside the teaser.
On the show, Trisha takes on the role of a determined police officer navigating a labyrinth of mysteries and suspense. The one-minute-28-second teaser opens with an eerie scene: an area being prepped for a ritual, where a terrified girl is bound to a stone with red thread. Two women perform rituals, smearing turmeric paste and kumkum on her, and pouring a liquid over her head as she screams in fear.
“We may have anger, betrayal, and hatred within us. But it’s not with these that we should battle. Rather, fight with the good in us, making sure it doesn’t fade away,” a voiceover says, as we see Trisha’s character Brinda undergo an emotional journey while investigating a case.
The teaser ends with the narrator addressing Brinda: “Before you entered the world, it may have been filled with evil. But before we depart, it is our responsibility to fill it with goodness”.
Alongside Trisha, Brinda features an ensemble cast including Indrajith Sukumaran, Jaya Prakash, Aamani, Ravindra Vijay, Anand Sami, and Rakendu Mouli in pivotal roles. Shakti Kanth Karthik has composed the original score for the series, with Dinesh K Babu handling cinematography and Anwar Ali overseeing editing.
