When it comes to numbers, four is special for Trina Saha! Neel Bhattacharya and Trina have known each other for 11 years. Now they are all set to tie the knot on February 4. Interestingly, Trina, who plays an endearing character called Gungun in the popular serial Khorkuto, shot for a wedding sequence on December 4! And the shoot for the wedding ceremony went on for 10 days.

Gungun is a simple, straightforward, innocent, fun-loving character. She has no complications. And her wedding to Babin was a major highpoint in the serial. Staying true to character, Gungun does a lot of fun, unorthodox things during the wedding ceremony. For example, she runs out joyfully to catch a glimpse of the groom when he arrives in a car.

Next, she breaks into a carefree dance and matches steps with the members from Babin’s family as they guide Babin into the wedding area. It’s an elaborate song and dance number that saw Trina in a lehenga taking the lead with Ambarish Bhattacharya who plays Potka.

Would Trina do something similar today? “No... I might want to, but the running or the dancing is not happening today,” laughs Trina. “But I do share a few character traits with Gungun. I believe in plain-speak, I am straightforward. And like Gungun, I love to dance,” smiles Trina.

The running scenes of Gungun are already a huge hit on social media. “Yes, I have seen the memes and the videos, and I am really moved. It is great to see people showering us with so much love,” smiles Trina.

What came across as effortless and spontaneous, was actually a challenging shoot. “The lehenga was heavy, the jewellery immensely heavy and I was shooting in that attire for 10 days,” says Trina.

Who choreographed the dance sequence? “There was no one. We just did a version of the bhashan dance and we all loved shooting the sequence. There were no rehearsals for the dance and no additional inputs on the dance steps.... the sequence turned out brilliantly because we share a brilliant understanding,” says Trina, who actually felt that she would fall off the piri during the shubho drishti scene. “And that part was kept in the serial!”

For February 4, Trina is experiencing a plethora of feelings. “I feel excited, nervous and happy. But I have not got time to think about it clearly since I have been busy shooting. I just know that I’ll be up from 4am on February 4,” smiles Trina.

The number four appears once again. And yes... the letters in the name ‘Neel’ add up to four as well!
