Transformers: Rise of the Beasts beats Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in India over the weekend

The seventh instalment in the Transformers franchise also claimed the top spot in its debut weekend in North America with a collection of USD 60.5 million

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts trumped Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in terms of weekend collection, with the former raking in Rs 13.5 crore nett against the latter’s Rs 5.2 crore nett on Saturday and Sunday, according to Box Office India reports.

After minting a decent Rs 4.2 crore nett on its opening day, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts earned Rs 3.45 crore nett on Friday. The total collection of the Steve Caple Jr-directed adventure saga now stands at Rs 21.15 crore nett in India.

The seventh instalment in the Transformers franchise also claimed the top spot in its debut weekend in North America, collecting USD 60.5 million. Rise of the Beasts earned an additional USD 110 million, resulting in an impressive worldwide gross of USD 170.5 million.

Not too far behind, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in its second weekend collected an estimated USD 55.4 million. The sequel to Sony Pictures's Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse has grossed USD 331 million globally so far. The animated superhero adventure movie has earned Rs 33 crore nett at the Indian box office so far.
