Whether you’re a Marvel aficionado, a Star Wars devotee or eagerly anticipating Pixar’s next big adventure, you must not miss new developments at Disney’s D34 expo in California. Here’s a look at all the exclusive reveals and first-look footage of a series of upcoming projects at the event.

Pixar expands on Disney+ with Dream Productions and Win or Lose

Pixar continues its impressive streak with the announcement of Dream Productions, a spin-off series of Inside Out, with a first look at its logo. But that’s not all. Pixar is also making its first foray into original series on Disney+ with Win or Lose, which will feature a variety of animation styles. Fans can look forward to its premiere on December 6, 2024.

Andrew Stanton returns to Direct Toy Story 5

Pixar is revisiting the beloved Toy Story universe with a fifth instalment, which will be helmed by Andrew Stanton, the director of Wall-E and Finding Nemo. While details are still under wraps, it has been revealed that the toys will face a new challenge involving electronic playthings and a group of rogue Buzz Lightyears. Toy Story 5 is slated for a summer 2026 release.

Pixar introduces Hoppers with Jon Hamm and Bobby Moynihan

In addition to expanding existing franchises, Pixar is also venturing into new territory with Hoppers, an original animated film featuring Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan,and Piper Curda. This fresh story will hit theatres in spring 2026.

Elio set for June 2025 debut with new cast member Zoe Saldana

Before the release of Toy Story 5 and Hoppers, Pixar will introduce audiences to a new universe with Elio, scheduled for a June 13, 2025 release. The film, set in space, will explore uncharted worlds, with Zoe Saldana joining the cast as Elio’s aunt.

Incredibles 3 officially in development

Pixar’s iconic superhero family is suiting up for a third adventure. In a major surprise, Incredibles 3 was confirmed to be in development, with franchise veteran Brad Bird at the helm. No additional details were provided.

Zootopia 2 unveils new character voiced by Ke Huy Quan

Zootopia 2 is on the horizon with an exclusive look at new footage revealing a character named Gary, a viper voiced by Ke Huy Quan, and a new setting called Marsh Market. Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde will return for more adventures when the sequel hits theatres on November 26, 2025.

Frozen 3 concept art revealed

Disney is deep into development on Frozen 3, set for a 2027 release. During D23, fans got a sneak peek at concept art, with director Jennifer Lee discussing why the team decided to continue the franchise with a third and potentially fourth film.

Star Wars: Skeleton Crew teases first trailer

Live-action Star Wars is returning to Disney+ with Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law. The first trailer was unveiled during the presentation, introducing a group of younglings lost in a galaxy far, far away. The footage also hints at Law's character using the Force. The show will premiere on Disney+ with a two-episode debut on December 3.

Teaser of Snow White revealed

During Friday’s D23 event, Disney debuted the first trailer for Snow White, slated for a March 21, 2025 release. Directed by Marc Webb — renowned for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man films — the movie features songs by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Starring Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the Evil Queen, this film arrives nearly 90 years after the original Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs premiered in 1937, a film that became foundational to the Disney legacy.

Other announcements

Apart from the films mentioned above, trailers for other films were also revealed at the D23. These include Moana 2 and Mufasa: The Lion King. The logo of Avatar: Fire and Ash was also revealed at the event in the presence of filmmaker James Cameron and lead actors Zoe Saldaña and Sam Worthington.
