Tom Hiddleston-starrer Marvel show Loki is set to return with Season 2 on Disney+ Hotstar in October, while another Marvel series — Echo, marking Charlie Cox’s return as the Daredevil — will debut on the streaming platform in November, Marvel Studios have announced.
Season 2 of Loki, which follows the notorious Asgardian and Thor’s brother Loki, will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from October 6, while Echo will premiere on November 29, Marvel Studios announced in a post on Instagram.
Marvel kicked off Phase 5 with Ant-man and the Wasp: Quantumania. At the Marvel D23 Expo in November 2022, Kevin Feige announced the list of upcoming titles in the MCU world, including the conclusions to Phase 6. Disney+ series Loki Season 2 and Echo were announced at the Expo, with exclusive footage and trailers.
Season 2 of Loki series picks up from the opening up of the multiverse and will answer the questions from Season 1, according to Hiddleston. The antagonist Kang the Conqueror, played by Jonathan Majors, has already appeared on the big screen in Quantumania.
Echo will be based on the character of the same name, who appeared in the Disney+ series Hawkeye in 2021. Alaqua Cox will reprise the role of Maya Lopez, aka Echo. We will see Lopez return to her hometown in Oklahoma and attempt to come to terms with her past, and reconnect with her Native American roots. Helmed by female writers, the series has already been praised for its premise and trailer, unveiled at the Marvel D23 Expo.
MCU Phase 5 shows will also include Secret Invasion, Ironheart, Agatha: Covens of Chaos, Daredevil: Born Again, Thunderbolts, What If Season 2, X-Men’97, and Spider-man: Freshman Year in 2023-24. Disney+ will also stream short series I am Groot from August 10.
