Tom Cruise-starrer Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One registered a phenomenal midweek release in India with Rs 12.50 crore nett on Wednesday, dampening the Kiara Advani-Kartik Aaryan-starrer SatyaPrem Ki Katha’s Day 14 collection.

The seventh film in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Dead Reckoning Part One earned significantly more than the opening-day collection of its predecessor, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which had opened with Rs 9.25 crore nett in 2018. The craze to see Tom Cruise in his latest Ethan Hunt avatar, however, badly hit SatyaPrem Ki Katha whose collection plummeted to Rs 1.25 crore nett on Wednesday from Tuesday’s Rs 2.1 crore nett. The total collection of the Samir Vidwans directoral now stands at Rs 71.41 crore nett at the domestic box office.

With its impressive start, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One has already become the second-highest opening day grossing Hollywood films of 2023 in India. Only Vin Diesel’s Fast X (Rs 13 crore nett) registered earnings higher than the Tom Cruise-starrer on the first day.

The actioner is expected to generate approximately USD 250 million at the global box office during its opening weekend, out of which approximately USD 90 million is projected to come from the North American market, while USD 160 million is anticipated from overseas.

Directed by Christopher McQuarrie, Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One features Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, a secret agent whose team faces a formidable AI adversary known as the Entity. The movie also features an ensemble cast including Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Esai Morales, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff and Henry Czerny.
