Tom Cruise, Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr and Emma Watson are among the 10 most popular Hollywood actors and actresses in India, according to a new report by Ormax Media.

Titled ‘Ormax stars India loves (Hollywood)’, the report, divided into two parts — one for male actors and the other for female actors — highlights that Marvel and DC stars like Downey Jr, Dwayne Johnson, Tom Holland and Chris Evans have made it to the list of male actors who have made a mark on Indian fans.

Tom Cruise, known for his action film series Mission Impossible, has secured the top-most position on Ormax’s list of the most popular male actors from Hollywood in India. The 61-year-old actor, who does most of his stunts on his own in his films, starred in the seventh instalment of Mission Impossible which collected over $567.5 million worldwide at the box office last year.

Cruise is followed by Robert, Chris Hemsworth and Johnson who have starred in last year’s Oppenheimer, Extraction 2 and Fast X, respectively. Robert has recently won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actor for Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer alongside Cilian Murphy who won the Best Actor Award for his portrayal of the creator of the atomic bomb J. Robert Oppenheimer. However, Cilian, who broke records on IMDb’s Starmeter in 2023 after the release of Oppenheimer, did not make it to the list.

Tom Holland, known for starring in Marvel’s Spider-Man movies, stands at the fifth position, while Leonardo DiCaprio, who recently starred in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon has emerged as the sixth most-popular actor.

Johnny Depp, who is going to make his directorial comeback with Modi, a biopic on Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani starring Al Pacino, has secured the seventh position, followed by Vin Diesel, Will Smith and Captain America star Chris Evans.

Among female stars, Scarlett Johansson, known for playing Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow in MCU movies, tops the list. The 39-year-old actress is followed by Emma Watson and Angelina Jolie, who were last seen in Greta Gerwig’s Little Women and the 2021 action-thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead, respectively.

No Hard Feelings star Jennifer Lawrence comes on the list next, followed by Gal Gadot, who starred alongside Jamie Dornan and Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt in last year’s Heart of Stone.

Emma Stone, who recently won the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Comedy/Musical for Poor Things, is the sixth most-popular actress, while Elizabeth Olsen known for playing Wanda Maximoff in Marvel movies achieved the seventh position.

Dune actress Zendaya, Barbie star Margot Robbie and Mare of Easttown lead Kate Winslet have also emerged as the female actors popular among Indians.

However, actresses like Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Anna de Armas and Jenna Ortega, who performed well in IMDb’s 2023 Starmeter, did not find a place in Ormax’s list.
