Tollywood mourns the loss of ‘Ustadji’ Rashid Khan

Noted names like Parambrata, Sourendro-Soumyajit, Jeet, Iman among others offered tribute to the music maestro

Tollywood celebrities including Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Jeet Gannguli and Iman Chakraborty have recalled moments they shared with music maestro Rashid Khan following the Padma Bhushan awardee’s untimely death due to cancer at the age of 55 on January 9.

Sourendro and Soumyajit shared a video of the music icon singing the Mohhamed Rafi classic Rahe Na Rahe Hum. “Rest in peace Ustadji,” they wrote alongside the video on their Instagram page.

Jeet Gannguli took to social media with a glimpse of a personal moment shared with Rashid Khan, where the latter is seen feeding Jeet affectionately. “This is the way I will always remember you,” the music composer wrote.

“It’s the colour of grief that fills us today,” wrote actor-director Parambrata Chattopadhyay on social media, mourning the loss of his “Ustaad ji”.

Mir reminisced about his memories of Rashid Khan’s hospitality and the biryani he cooked, remembering the time Mir spent with the music maestro.

Somlata Acharyya Chowdhury remembered the smiling face of the singer, and said that she was finding it difficult to accept his demise.

Iman Chakraborty sought comfort in looking back at a bygone day of meeting the Padma Shri awardee.

Sudipa Chatterjee shared a montage of memories with Rashid Khan, remembering their adda sessions.
