The makers of Amar Kaushik’s upcoming creature comedy Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, on Friday dropped a funky dance number called Thumkeshwari that sees Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon flaunt some masala moves in sync with Ganesh Acharya’s choreography.

Composed by Sachin-Jigar and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, Thumkeshwari is a peppy number as well as a visual treat. Apart from setting the score, Sachin-Jigar crooned their hearts out along with Ash King and Rashmeet Kaur in the song.

Sharing his thoughts on the track, Varun Dhawan says, “Thumkeshwari is a number that’s tailor-made to burn the dance floor. I thoroughly enjoyed performing to its funky tune. The song’s lyrics are a catchy delight, and I am sure fans are going to have a gala time dancing to the track.”

In a surprising twist, Shraddha Kapoor, who previously worked in Kaushik’s horror comedy Stree, makes a special appearance in this groovy feet-tapping number. Draped in a red sari, Shraddha shakes a leg with Varun in the closing moments of the song. Her appearance also makes us wonder if there’s more to it as the director earlier expressed his desire to build a horror comedy universe.

The song showcases Kriti Sanon at her breathtaking best. “I had an absolute ball shooting for Thumkeshwari. I was sharing screen space with Varun after a very long time. We never worked on this kind of a grand track together. This was quite the memorable experience,” said the actress about shooting for the song.

Talking about the track, Sachin-Jigar said Thumkeshwari’s addictive tune, thumping beats and catchy lyrics was going to make it a sure hit on the dance floor. “It exudes the kind of fun and enjoyable vibe that Bhediya is all about.”

Produced by Dinesh Vijan, Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Deepak Dobriyal and Abhishek Banerjee, will hit the cinemas in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil in 2D and 3D on November 25.
