Following the teaser launch of Venkatesh’s Saindhav to the trailer drop of Sudeep Kishan’s Michael, the makers of other upcoming movies from the Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam film industries dropped new trailers and teasers last week. Here’s a look at some of them.
Thugs (Tamil)
The official trailer of choreographer-turned-filmmaker Brinda Gopal’s Tamil-language film Thugs was released by Sony Music South. It stars Hridhu Haroon in the lead role alongside Simha, RK Suresh, Munishkanth, Anaswara Rajan, Sarath Appani and PL Thenappan.
The two-minute-23-second-long trailer is filled with high-octane action sequences. It tells the story of a criminal who has been put behind bars for killing someone. He, however, teams up with a gangster in the prison and takes on the savage jailer.
Ravanasura (Telugu)
The makers of Telugu star Ravi Teja’s upcoming action film Ravansura unveiled the first look of the film. Directed by Sudheer Varma, the film also features an ensemble cast of Sushanth, Anu Emmanuel, Megha Akash, Faria Abdullah, Daksha Nagarkar and Pujita Ponnada.
The 43-second-long clip, which was released on Ravi Teja’s birthday last week, introduces us to the main character of the film (Teja). He is seen smoking a cigar in the clip.
Ravansura will arrive in cinemas on April 7.
Kabzaa (Kannada)
The makers of Upendra’s Kannada-language Kabzaa have unveiled its release date. Billed as a pan-India film, the period action drama, directed by R. Chandru, also features Kiccha Sudeep and Shriya Saran.
Upendra took to Twitter to reveal the release date while sharing an image of him on a motorbike. He captioned the photo with the words “Here's the much awaited Release date of the next big thing in the Indian Cinema. #Kabzaa hitting the silver screen From March 17th, 2023.”
Dear Vaappi (Malayalam)
Muzik 247 has dropped the official trailer of its upcoming Malayalam-language drama film Dear Vaappi. Written and directed by Shan Thulaseedharan, the film stars Lal, Anagha Narayanan and Niranj Mainyanpilla Raju in lead roles.
The two-minute-27-second-long trailer starts with a man sewing garments. He talks to his daughter about his childhood dream and how he struggled to become a tailor. The daughter, on the other hand, is trying to make her father’s dream a reality.
