First, a warm welcome to the talented Zakhm actor Kunal Khemu who helmed his debut directorial venture in such a beautiful way. The road trip is infused with innocuous madness and rip-roaring humour. On top of that, when you have a trio of successful web series actors Divyenndu, Pratik Gandhi and Avinash Tiwary together, the entertainment quotient of the film automatically goes up by a large extent.
It is a pleasure to see our very dear Remo D’Souza playing a prominent role. The situations depicted are very natural and taken from real life, especially the camouflage that Divyenndu was trying to portray. The real madness starts after the interval with some incredibly hilarious sequences. Pratik with his hysterical split personality is too good. Special credits to the sweet couple of Chaya and Upendra who tried to act like villains but turned out to be two of the most adorable characters. There are glitches in the film but considering that this is Kunal’s first baby, let us ignore those and enjoy this mass entertaining movie, made with a pure heart. (I liked/didn’t like Madgaon Express because... March 23)

Kunal Khemu’s debut directorial venture Madgaon Express is a frisky, buddy comedy film peppered with amusing dialogues and a dollop of nostalgia in every frame. Starring Divyenndu, Avinash Tiwary and Pratik Gandhi in the lead, the film narrates the journey of a trio who set out to fulfil their childhood desire, aka ‘Bachpan ka sapna’, of a trip to Goa, unaware of the twists and turns in their way. Running high on emotions and humour, the film impresses with its simple yet engaging storytelling which brilliantly resonates with the big dreams harboured by middle-class youths. The triad of Divyenndu, Pratik and Avinash add laughter and merriment to every scene with their delightful performances. Their impeccable comic timing deftly covers up the slight blemishes and makes it a hilarious joyride. Having starred in many comedy films, director Kunal Khemu ingeniously utilises his experience to get off the mark in style. From whistle-worthy one-liners to scintillating performances, the film is an all-round entertainer capable of boosting the mood of the viewers effortlessly.
