Following the release of Chiyaan Vikram’s Thangaalan teaser and Sai Dharam Tej’s Virupaksha trailer, the makers of several upcoming Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam films dropped new trailers and teasers last week. Here’s a look.
The Test (Tamil)
Y Not Studios unveiled the motion poster of Tamil-language sports drama film The Test. Helmed by Shashikanth, the film stars R Madhavan, Nayanthara and Siddharth in lead roles.
The motion poster shows the actors and then it shows cricket bats, balls, stumps and floodlights. It ends with a huge roar which hints that of a cheer in a cricket stadium.
Vimanam (Telugu)
Zee Studios dropped the teaser of Tamil-Telugu bilingual film Vimanam. Written and directed by Siva Prasad Yanala and produced by Kiran Korrapati, the film stars Samuthirakani, Master Dhruvan, Meera Jasmine, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Rahul Ramakrishna, Dhanraj and Naan Kadavul Rajendran.
The one-minute-13-second-long teaser shows a tale of a son of a poor physically disabled person who wants to travel in an aeroplane. The tease also hints that the boy becomes a pilot one day.
Vimanam will arrive in theatres on June 9.
Ramana Avatara (Kannada)
Jhankar Music released the official trailer of its upcoming Kannada-language film Ramana Avatara. Written and directed by Vikas Pampapathi, the film stars Rishi, Pranitha Subhash, Arun Sagar, Shubra Aiyappa and Anirudh Acharya.
The two-minute-28-second-long trailer chronicles the tale of Rama (Rishi), a village boy seeking a job. We then meet him after his breakup, drinking with friends and crying. After that, Rama suddenly comes up with a brilliant idea. The trailer is filled with action, romance and comedy.
Malaikottai Vaaliban (Malayalam)
Malayalam actor Mohanlal took to Twitter to share the poster of his upcoming film Malaikottai Vaaliban. The film will be directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery, known for films like Jallikattu, Churuli and Angamaly Diaries. The new film is going to be penned by PS Rafeeq.
In the poster, Mohanlal is seen piling a grappling rope with both his hands while an iron chain is tied around his neck. The film is said to be a period drama, which will follow the life of a wrestler.
