With its own kind of magic, curses and a protagonist that manages to be both amusing and entertaining, Jujutsu Kaisen stands out as one of the most talked-about manga to be adapted into a popular anime now.

Yuji Itadori is a high-school student who is incredibly muscular and athletic. He would rather hang out with his friends and engage in the school’s sports club than go to class. He would also rather not go to school. As the story progresses, Yuji finds himself the host of a horrific curse known as Ryomen Sukuna and eventually joins a secret gang of Jujutsu sorcerers in their mission to eliminate the curse.

The most heavily cursed item tends to attract lesser curses, which in turn tend to bring weaker monsters that aren’t generally met in the world inhabited by humans. Yuji discovers a ‘Sukuna’ finger while digging through the school museum’s archives. Megumi, who was able to discover the presence of the Sukuna’s finger thanks to the energy it emitted into the world, arrives at the same time to recover it. The finger is drawing the curses at this time.

If a plot about insanely strong curses that are constantly trying to attack the human world isn’t convincing enough for you to start with the anime, you definitely need to join the fandom because of JJK’s very own Kakashi Hatake, Gojo Satorou. One of the strongest sorcerers who can launch earth-shattering attacks but also goofy enough to joke around with his three subordinates is the best that the anime has to offer.

With only 24 episodes to boot, you will find yourself binging through the episodes, as you try figuring out what plans the evil overlords have and how are the jujutsu sorcerers going to stop them. While Gojo’s Infinite Void technique might be one of the coolest moves you will see, Ryomen Sukuna’s Malevolent Shrine looks straight out of a horror film. Characters in this anime are appealing to a large audience since they are hilarious, strong, and cool all at the same time. The show’s repeating theme is one of the things that attracts people and keeps them watching.

Majority of the fights in Jujutsu Kaisen are bouts involving martial arts, and the animations that MAPPA created to illustrate such situations are some of their best work. Even though the animation industry is becoming more and more complicated, MAPPA tackled the problem head on and created some super amazing combat scenes.

Stars of the show

Yuji Itadori

In the Jujutsu Kaisen novels, he plays the central role. He was leading a regular life until he met Megumi and ate one of Sukuna’s fingers. He is the son of Jin Itadori and the grandson of Wasuke Itadori. Yuji, Megumi, and Nobara all started their first year at Tokyo Jujutsu High when he agreed to be Sukuna’s vessel.

Satoru Gojo

He is a jJujutsu sorcerer of the highest rank and is generally considered the world’s greatest fighter. Since 400 years have passed without a single member of the Gojo family inheriting both the Limitless and the Six Eyes, Satoru is the family’s pride and joy.

Megumi Fushigiro

As Toji’s ace in the hole, Megumi was born outside the clan. He was discovered by Satoru Gojo, who became his mentor and enrolled him as one of his students at Jujutsu High. Among his first-year classmates at Tokyo Jujutsu High are Yuji Itadori and Nobara Kugisaki, both of whom are sorcerers of the second level in the art of Jujutsu.

Nobara Kugisaki

Although she may come across as harsh and abrasive at first, Nobara is actually a bold and assured young woman with an unbending will. To Nobara, it is more important than everything else to always be true to who she is.
