Haye re biye, the second song from Khadaan (starring Dev, Jisshu Sengupta, Barkha Bisht, Sneha Bose and Idhika Paul), is a spirited ode to marriage and the balance that women bring to life. As Dev and Jisshu’s characters rise to the pinnacle of their conquests in the coalfields, two women enter their lives, introducing harmony, purpose, and a new perspective. With its playful energy and funky lyrics, the song captures the essence of joy, love, and partnership, illustrating how even the strongest journeys are enriched by meaningful connections. Rooted in its celebratory spirit, Haye re biye embodies the vibrance of completeness and togetherness.

“I am very excited to do a song with Dev again after almost 14 years. The wedding song of Khadaan was a great experience. I enjoy dancing with Dev; our energies match, and we have great chemistry. We had a lot of fun while shooting the song,” said Barkha.
Composed by Nilayan Chatterjee and brought to life by Abhijeet Bhattacharya, June Banerjee, and Sudip Nandy, Haye re biye stands out as a spirited anthem, offering a delightful contrast to the darker undertones of Khadaan’s gritty tale of courage and transformation.
“Haye re biye is more than a song; it’s a vibrant celebration crafted with passion to capture the essence of a Bengali wedding. Within the film, it fits naturally, with Nilayan Chatterjee’s musical brilliance blending timeless and modern sounds. For me, it marked a milestone as Dev and Barkha’s chemistry lights up every frame, enhanced by Shankaraiyaa’s lively choreography. Dev’s charisma, paired with a surprise appearance by Jisshu, adds charm, making Haye re biye an unforgettable ode to joy, love, and togetherness in Bengali weddings,” said director Soojit Dutta.

Set against the rugged backdrop of Damodar Valley’s coalfields, Khadaan is a saga of resilience, ambition and the indomitable human spirit. With its release slated for December 20, Khadaan promises an emotional and visually arresting experience. The unveiling of Haye re biye has only heightened the anticipation.
“Haye re biye is the ultimate party anthem for Indian weddings, and creating it was an absolute blast. Unlike typical wedding songs that lean towards item numbers, we’ve celebrated marriage by staying rooted in our culture with a vibrant, joyful dance track. Recording the song was just as exciting, especially in Bombay, where non-Bengali chorus singers loved the hook so much that they brought amazing energy to the track. It’s a song deeply rooted in Bengal’s essence but universally appealing.
What sets the song apart is its unique approach. Most wedding songs focus on romance, but this one playfully hints at the realities of marriage. We hope, people will make this song as a part of their wedding celebration,” said Nilayan.
