Directed by Gajendra Ahire, The Signature is an adaptation of the Marathi film Anumati (2013), which originally starred Marathi cinema star Vikram Gokhale. The original film revolves around Ratnakar, an elderly man who is devastated to learn that his wife is gravely ill. Desperate to save her, he faces a series of trials and tribulations, navigating through helplessness and heartache in his attempt to keep his wife alive.

In the Hindi adaptation, Anupam Kher will take on the role played by Gokhale, with the story now set in the Hindi heartland. Gokhale received the National Film Award for Best Actor for this film in 2012.

The Signature also features an ensemble cast including Mahima Chaudhary, Annu Kapoor, Ranvir Shorey, Neena Kulkarni, and Manoj Joshi.

The Signature was chosen for screening at the Namaste Vietnam Festival 2023.
