Vikrant Massey’s Shraban Kumar is a fearless journalist on a warpath against the system to unravel the truth about the 2002 Godhra train-burning incident amidst political pressure and media cover-up in the teaser of The Sabarmati Report, dropped by the makers on Thursday.

The one-minute-eight-second-long teaser, also featuring Yodha star Raashii Khanna and Jawan actress Ridhi Dogra, takes us to the on-field media coverage following the burning of Sabarmati Express in Gujarat’s Godhra on the morning of February 27, 2002. The incident reportedly led to the death of 59 passengers.

The video begins with a sequence of vandalism as the train returning from Ayodhya is stopped and pelted with rocks. The following clips feature chilling scenes of passengers trapped inside the burning train. The camera then shifts to Vikrant, explaining to his boss (Ridhi) the significance of the news.

The tension quickly escalates as Vikrant refuses to accept that the burning of the Sabarmati Express was only an accident. Raashii is seen supporting the actor on his quest for truth.

Vikrant's character argues that the entire nation is eagerly waiting for the media to reveal the truth, but the media is hindered by the influential figures of our society.

Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa Kapoor, Amul V Mohan and Anshul Mohan, The Sabarmati Report will arrive in theatres on May 3.
