“What do you think of the term Bollywood?” The trailer of Netflix docu-series The Romantics, directed by Indian Matchmaking creator Smriti Mundhra, begins with this poignant question posted to a host of Bollywood stars.

The four-part series sees three generations of Bollywood actors talking about Yash Chopra’s vision for modern Indian cinema and how the mantle has been passed to his son, Aditya Chopra. They also discuss how Yash Chopra’s cinema has had a tremendous impact on future generations of filmmakers.

Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif, Kajol and Bhumi Pednekar are seen discussing Aditya Chopra’s romantic films and how they blended Western culture without compromising on their connection with the Indian value system.

The late Rishi Kapoor is also seen making an appearance with his wife, Neetu Kapoor, in the docu-series trailer. Filmmaker Karan Johar will also be a part of the docu-series along with celebrity fashion designer Manish Malhotra and Indian-Canadian YouTuber Lilly Singh.

Releasing on February 14, The Romantics trailer hints at a possible appearance by Yash Raj Films producer Aditya Chopra, who has kept himself away from the public eye for the last 20 years.
