Slated for release next year, Pathikrit Basu’s upcoming film Shreeman VS Shreemati, which deals with marital discord and divorce, has shared its teaser poster on social media.
The poster is clearly symbolic of marital differences. It also indicates an effort on the part of the married couple to reconcile their differences. The foreground of the poster depicts a modern young couple engaged in an effort to mend their broken relationship. A legal angle is introduced into the picture as the couple can be seen standing on weighing pans of a balance, a symbol of the judiciary.
They each stand on a weighing pan, facing the other, trying to fix the giant symbol of a red heart that has huge cracks on it. It is evident that they are struggling to perform their task and appear to be pushing hard to patch up the broken heart and their relationship. The figure of a judge, clad in the customary black and white attire of legal professionals, is seen in the background, under whose observation and guidance the action in the foreground appears to take place.
The poster makes it clear that the film’s action will be about a courtroom drama surrounding the divorce case of the couple. It piques the viewer’s interest by suggesting a divorce proceeding in which the opposing parties will also be engaged in an attempt to fix their relationship thereby giving themselves a second chance.
The film brings together for the first time veteran actors Mithun Chakraborty and Anjan Dutt, who are supported by an impressive cast including Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Madhumita Sarcar, Anjana Basu and Biswanath Basu.
Produced by Adipta Majumder and directed by Pathikrit Basu, Shreeman VS Shreemati, which is based on true events, will hit the big screen on April 10, 2025.
