The new Zee Bangla show Anandi promises to take viewers on a poignant journey through the life of a young woman who believes that love and affection are the cure for many of life’s challenges. Anandi is the story of a determined young woman, portrayed by Anwesha Hazra, who hails from a lower middle-class family and dreams of becoming a doctor. However, her aspirations are put on hold when her father’s illness compels her to take up a job as a nurse to support her family. In the course of her work for an affluent family of doctors, Anandi encounters her idol, the renowned heart surgeon Dr Adidev Lahiri, played by Writwik Mukherjee. Their initial relationship is fraught with misunderstandings, particularly after the tragic passing of Anandi’s father during a surgery overseen by Dr Lahiri.
As fate would have it, Anandi is compelled into a marriage she never wanted. But as she delves deeper into her new life, she uncovers the truth that Dr Lahiri was wrongfully blamed for her father’s death. With determination and resilience, Anandi embarks on a mission to clear Dr Lahiri’s name and find justice.
“Anandi is a meticulously crafted narrative that underscores the core values of love, family and justice. Anandi’s journey embodies the challenges and triumphs that resonate deeply with many, and we are confident that her story will leave a lasting impact on our audience. This is a tale that will stay with viewers long after its conclusion,” said Samrat Ghosh, chief cluster officer — east, north and premium cluster, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd.
