Sayantani Guhathakurata and Sahil Phull star in the music video of the song Boka ghuri. The entire arrangement borders on the fringes of lounge-driven electronica fused with both classical and pop influences.Sung by Anwesshaa and Prajna Dutta, the original song has beenwritten and composed by Prajna Dutta.
The music video explores the idea of waiting for one’s beloved, and ultimately embracing the paradigm of love.
The music video, which will release this August 24 on the KLIKK app and KLIKK MUZIC YouTube channel, has been directed byJiit Chakraborty, who has earlier directed feature films like Shesher Golpo (which is streaming on KLIKK) and Kathamrito.
“Love and loss have been an inseparable theme for most of my original songs. When I started writing Boka ghuri the tune and the lyrics happened together, then the musical quotations which have been used from the Indian classical and Sufi traditions slowly became an inseparable part of the song and finally we all decided to present the song with utmost honesty as an interwoven cross-cultural musical experience. Also interestingly, while making the composition I was sure that I wanted Anwesshaa to be the main vocalist for the song as the song required an amalgamation of both Eastern and Western techniques to communicate the melodic expression,” said Prajna.
“Sayantani has been my friend for 14 odd years. I have worked with her multiple times, however, this is the first time I am working with her on a music video. I have also known Sahil Phull when I was working in Mumbai for a particular project. Through this music video, we have tried to tell a story,” said Jiit.
