Rachel Brosnahan’s Miriam “Midge” Maisel is on the cusp of becoming a stand-up comedy star and achieving everything she ever dreamt of in the recently dropped trailer of The Marvelous Mrs Maisel Season 5.

However, “two steps forward, three steps backward” is how she summarises her journey in the one-minute-27-second long trailer, which picks up right where things ended in Season 4 of the Prime Video show.

“I want to break every single rule there is,” Midge says as she stares at a well-placed billboard for The Gordon Ford Show. The trailer also gives us glimpses of her in a TV show and the personal battles she has to fight for her dreams.

Apart from Rachel Brosnahan, the final season of Prime Video’s comedy-drama series also stars Alex Borstein, Michael Zegen, Marin Hinkle, Tony Shalhoub, Kevin Pollak, Caroline Aaron, Jane Lynch and Luke Kirby. The series is created by Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Backed by Judy Garland’s Lucky Day, the trailer takes us back to the stand-up comedy scene in 1960s New York.

The official logline reads, “Midge finds herself closer than ever to the success she’s dreamed of, only to discover that closer than ever is still so far away.”

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been an award-winning show since its premiere in 2017. The series has picked up twenty Primetime Emmy Awards, six Critics Choice Awards, four Screen Actors Guild Awards, and three Golden Globe Awards till date. It is also among the most streamed English comedy series on Prime Video.

The streaming platform also shared a brand new poster of the fifth and final season of the series via Instagram with the premiere date.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Season 5 will be streaming on Prime Video from April 14.
