The Machine
Sony Pictures Entertainment on Thursday late at night unveiled the official trailer of its upcoming comedy action film The Machine. Helmed by Peter Atencio, the film is inspired by the 2016 stand-up routine of the same name by Bert Kreischer, who starred as a fictionalised version of himself in the lead role alongside Mark Hamill, Jess Gabor, Jimmy Tatro, Stephanie Kurtzuba and Mercedes De La Cruz.
In the two-minute-24-second-long trailer, we see Bert Kreischer hosting a party after the success of his stand-up comedy gig. His father (Hamill) attends the party with the aim to embarrass him. But both of them are kidnapped by Georgia, Bert’s daughter, who was wronged 20 years ago by Bert while drunk on a college semester abroad in Russia.
The Machine is scheduled to be released on May 26.
Martin
The official teaser of Kannada-language action film Martin came out on Thursday late night. Directed by AP Arjun and produced by Uday K Mehta, the film stars Dhruva Sarja, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Anveshi Jain, Chikkanna, Malavika Avinash, Achyuth Kumar, Nikitin Dheer, Nawab Shah and Rohit Pathak.
The two-minute-33-second-long teaser opens with visuals of a military cantonment in Pakistan. We see a dangerous Indian prisoner arriving there in an arena for a gladiator-style fight with two other people. We then see glimpses of that ‘Indian’ (Dhruva Sarja) causing havoc in various parts of India and Pakistan.
The Power
Amazon Prime Video on Thursday dropped the official trailer of its upcoming thriller series The Power. It stars Toni Collette in the lead role, alongside John Leguizamo, Auli’i Cravalho, Toheeb Jimoh, Josh Charles, Eddie Marsan, Ria Zmitrowicz, Zrinka Cvitešić and Halle Bush.
In the two-minute-38-second-long trailer, we see teenage girls developing the power to electrocute people at will due to a twist of nature. These girls are based in various parts of the globe and cause a complete reversal of the power balance of the world.
The Power will be streaming on Amazon prime Video from March 31.
In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal
Netflix Asia on Friday released the official trailer of its upcoming South Korean true-crime docuseries titled In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal.
The one-minute-56-second-long trailer explores the chilling true stories of four Korean leaders claiming to be prophets and exposes the dark side of unquestioning belief.
In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal will be streaming on Netflix from March 3.
