Michael Fassbender’s psychopathic assassin goes on a killing spree following a failed attempt at murdering his employers in the action-packed trailer of David Fincher’s upcoming neo-noir thriller The Killer.

Unveiled by Netflix on Tuesday, the one-minute-37-second-long video introduces Fassbender’s unnamed assassin preparing for his next kill. His voiceover keeps reminding him to “stick to the plan” and destroy evidence as he goes on to execute one murder after another.

With relentless shoot-outs and chase sequences, the teaser takes us to the volatile world created by Fincher. Fassbender’s unnamed assassin looks similar to Hitman game’s Agent 47 in a few visuals. With The Killer, Fincher is going back to the genre in which he made his name.

Alongside Fassbender, the film stars Charles Parnell, Arliss Howard, Sophie Charlotte and Tilda Swinton. It is based on Alexis Nolent (pen name: Matz) and Luc Jacamon’s graphic novel series of the same name. Andrew Kevin Walker, who previously collaborated with Fincher on the 1995 Brad Pitt-starrer Se7en, has adapted the graphic novel.

Previously, the streamer also unveiled a poster of the film on X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “David Fincher’s upcoming film The Killer, starring Michael Fassbender, is in select theaters October and on Netflix November 10.”

The Killer will hit select theatres on October 27 and then stream on Netflix from November 10.
