Mother-daughter duo Uma Thurman and Maya Hawke feature together in The Kill Room trailer

The film also stars Joe Manganiello, Debi Mazar, Dree Hemingway and Samuel L. Jackson

Hollywood actress Uma Thurman and her real-life daughter Maya Hawke, who played Robin Buckley in the Netflix series Stranger Things, are set to make their first onscreen appearance together in the upcoming American dark comedy thriller movie The Kill Room, a trailer of which was recently dropped by the makers.

Unveiled by Shout! Studios, the two-minute-34-second-long trailer follows Patrice Capullo (played by Uma Thurman), an art dealer who finds herself entangled in a money laundering scheme with Samuel L. Jackson’s mob boss as they struggle to revive Patrice’s loss-making business.

In order to make more profit, she exhibits the creation of hitman Reggie (played by Joe Manganiello). His horrific killings inspired his art, which quickly propelled him to stardom in the world of fine art. Now, both his admirers and foes from the crime syndicate are desperate to uncover the true identity of the anonymous artist known as the Bagman because he kills people by suffocating them with a plastic bag.

Helmed by actress-turned-director Nicol Paone, the film also features Debi Mazar, Dree Hemingway, Liv Morgan and Larry Pine. The Kill Room arrives in theatres on September 29.

Maya was born toThurman and her former spouse, actor Ethan Hawke. In the trailer, Maya makes a brief appearance as she asks, “Who is the Bagman?”, inside a gallery.

Besides Stranger Things, Maya has also appeared in films like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), Fear Street Part One: 1994 (2021), Do Revenge (2022) and Asteroid City (2023).
