Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine-starrer romcom The Idea of You drew nearly 50 million viewers globally within its first two weeks on Prime Video, marking Amazon MGM’s most successful romcom debut to date, the studio reported.
“Thanks for feeling everything with us. #TheIdeaofYou is the best performing rom-com on @PrimeVideo EVER,” the official handle of Amazon MGM Studios wrote on X.
Released on Prime Video on May 2, The Idea of You revolves around a 40-year-old single mother (Hathaway) who embarks on a passionate romance with a 24-year-old pop star (Galitzine).
Directed by Michael Showalter, who co-wrote the screenplay with Jennifer Westfeldt, the movie is adapted from Robinne Lee’s eponymous book.
Apart from Hathaway and Galitzine, the cast of The Idea of You also includes Ella Rubin, Annie Mumolo, Reid Scott, Perry Mattfeld, Jordan Aaron Hall, Mathilda Gianopoulos, Meg Millidge, Raymond Cham Jr., Jaiden Anthony, Viktor White and Dakota Adan.
