Tom Blyth’s Coriolanus Snow is tasked with mentoring District 12’s tribute Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler) to keep her alive as she battles tough conditions and worthy opponents in the trailer of the upcoming American dystopian action film The Hunger Games - The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes.
Dropped by Lionsgate Movies on Wednesday, the two-minute-45-second-long trailer follows the 10th annual Hunger Games, a spectacle wherein district children are forced to fight till death as punishment for the insurrection the districts waged against the Capitol during the first civil war.
We see a young Coriolanus Snow, who is striving to revive his family’s legacy, mentoring Rachel Zegler’s Lucy — the District 12 female tribute who is not exactly the cream of the crop — as he eyes the Plinth Prize, a cash reward awarded to the mentor whose tribute emerges victorious. When Lucy captures the country’s attention with a song at the Reaping, Snow realises they just might have a shot at winning.
