In the sixth episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2, Kapil Sharma and team host the star-studded cast of Netflix's latest crime thriller Do Patti. With Kajol, Kriti Sanon, and Shaheer Sheikh taking the stage, alongside co-producer and writer Kanika Dhillon, expectations ran high. But let’s just say that while Kajol may have a knack for thrillers, this episode could’ve used a plot twist or two! Instead, it turned out to be a ‘who can laugh the loudest’ show….
Laughing the loudest crown goes to…
Kajol, of course!Even with Archana Puran Singh in her chair, going hahahahaha at the drop of a ha-ha hat, Kajol’s laughter rang out loudest and longest. While to begin with, her LOL was quite refreshing and mildly infectious, it soon made us want to go “khamosh” on her.
Laughing at everything crown goes to…
Shaheer Sheikh. The television star making his filmi debut as the angry and abusive badman of Do Patti, kept laughing throughout the show. The jokes could be flat or (un)funny, crass or (over)cooked, nothing could stop Shaheer from ROC(ouch)L.
Laughing pretty crown goes to…
Kriti Sanon.Having gone from aspiring actress to star to producer in triple quick time, one had hoped to know more from and about the ‘do patti’ (double role, silly!) in Do Patti. Instead, she spent her time smiling pretty, laughing elegant and overall being picture perfect.
Must have been laughing but we didn’t notice…
Kanika Dhillon, the writer of Do Patti.
After all, when was the camera ever on her?
A few moments of genuine laughter….
- When Kapil asked Kajol about her social media game, she was candid about her kids, Nysa and Yug, not understanding her quirky posts, with Nysa even saying, “I just don’t get it”. Kajol, unbothered, declared she’d post whatever she liked, much to the she-hood mirth of Archana Puran Singh and Kriti Sanon.
- When Kajol and Kriti had a ball with the helium balloon challenge. Kapil asked his guests to inhale helium from balloons and then repeat Bollywood dialogues. If Kriti was truly kicked with her childlike helium-voice, Kajol the consummate actress quickly took the cue and ad-libbed her way through. As for Shaheer, he was, well, too busy laughing to catch a breath of helium.
Some moments of misplaced laughter….
- The show’s obsession with Jackie Shroff saw Krushna Abhishek as Jaggu Dada teaming up with Kiku Sharda’s Tiger Shroff. A gag on ‘hi-jean/hygiene’ triggered some of the loudest laughs, but a break from Jaggu Dada will be our ‘teri meherbaniyan’ request to Kapil and co.
- Sunil Grover looked strangely out-of-place in his ‘Homekara’ avatar where he tried to mimic Ajay Devgn with Kajol in the house. And let’s just say Grover as Chumbak angling for Kriti’s attention felt creepy after a point.
- The social media comments segment is as edgy as a butter knife and as pointless as February 31st. Time for a new idea, please.
