Devara: Part 1 stars Jr NTR, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan spill the beans about on-set camaraderie and more in the latest teaser for Episode 2 of The Great Indian Kapil Show Season 2, set to premiere on Netflix this Saturday.
While Janhvi’s humorous take on the equation between parents Boney Kapoor and Sridevi leaves the audience in stitches, Saif’s recreation of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa pose and Jr NTR’s quip about Janhvi’s hospitality add to the fun vibe of the show.
Dropped by the streaming platform on Wednesday, the one-minute-38-second-long video offers a glimpse of Jr NTR and Saif gushing about Sridevi. The video also shows Jr NTR recreating Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic arms-stretched-out pose.
Janhvi Kapoor shares a light-hearted insight into her parents' marriage, saying, “My dad had already converted. He started having idli and sambar for breakfast instead of aloo parathas, and by the end of it, my mum was fighting like a true North Indian.”
Krushna Abhishek’s portrayal of Rajmata and Kiku Sharda’s comedic take on Baahubali character Kattappa as ‘Motapa’ also add to the humour.
The video ends with the Devara cast playing a game of dumb charades and Sunil Grover’s satire on Telugu cinema’s penchant for VFX.
Team Jigra — Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar, Vedang Raina and filmmaker Vasan Bala — appeared as guests on the first episode of the chat show this season on September 21.
The first season of The Great Indian Kapil Show premiered on Netflix on March 30 and concluded on June 22. The 13-episode chat show featured celebrity guests like Ed Sheeran, Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Kartik Aaryan, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Sania Mirza, Diljit Dosanjh, Imtiaz Ali, Parineeti Chopra and the cast of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar.
The audience response to the first season of the comedy chat show was lukewarm. The first episode with Ranbir Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni garnered 2.5 million views on Netflix. However, by the fourth episode, featuring Vicky and Sunny Kaushal, the show had slipped to No. 8 on Netflix’s Top 10 chart.
