Prosenjit and Rituparna Sengupta’s 50th film, Ajogyo, directed by Kaushik Ganguly, is slated to release in theatres on June 7. The story revolves around Raktim Majumdar, once an ordinary banker, who is now a broken stay-at-home dad, desperately seeking work. Raktim’s wife, Parna, is forced to step out in this crisis and lands a job at an investment firm. All is well until one day Raktim’s confidante Prosen walks into their lives.

“Working with Kaushik Ganguly is a delight for every performer. Also, Ritu and I will be celebrating our 50th film together,” said Prosenjit.

“The script and Ajogya’s story are both exquisite. Kaushikda has given us wonderful stories throughout. This film will also touch people’s hearts,” said Rituparna.

“Rituparna and Prosenjit have never appeared in a love story like this one before. They’ve appeared in stories depicting extramarital love affairs, a stereotypical relationship, and a story of a married couple before, but not like the one in Ajogya. It’s out of the box and does justice to both their maturity and experience. They’re making history with Ajogya. I’m so happy to be directing them and that my movie is a part of their 50th celebration,” said Kaushik Ganguly about one of the most successful lead pairs in Tollywood. The music of the film is helmed by Anupam Roy, Indraadip Dasgupta and Ranojoy Bhattacharya.
