The sixth and final season of Netflix’s historical drama series The Crown will feature Prince Charles (now King Charles III) and Camilla Parker-Bowles’s royal wedding in 2005, the streamer revealed on Monday.

Sharing a photo of a royal wedding invitation, the streamer wrote on X (formerly Twitter), “After six seasons, seven years and three casts, The Crown comes to an end later this year. Here’s a hint at what’s to come in our final season.”

The invitation contained the names of the royal couple, the venue (St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle) and the date (April 9, 2005). “Service of prayer and dedication following the marriage of his Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall,” it reads.

The drama series chronicles the life of Queen Elizabeth II from the 1940s to modern times with an inside look at the royal family.

King Charles III, who was the former Prince of Wales, was earlier married to Princess Diana and they formally parted their ways in 1996. Diana died in a gruesome car crash a year after her divorce from Charles.

In the upcoming season, Diana’s death will also be depicted. The relationship between Prince William and Kate Middleton, who began dating during their college days at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, will also be covered in the final season of the popular Netflix Original show.

The Crown will return on Netflix later this year, though no specific date has been given by the streamer.
