Agastya Nanda’s Archie sets the dance floor on fire with Suhana Khan’s Veronica and Khushi Kapoor’s Betty at a carnival in the music video of Va Va Voom, the second track— a retro foot-tapping number — from Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming Netflix film The Archies.
Dropped by Sony Music India on Friday, the Va Va Voom music video opens with Agastya playing a guitar at a fair and entertaining his audience with a peppy track. He is soon joined by Suhana and Khushi, both clad in knee-length layered frocks. Agastya tries to woo the girls and takes turns to dance with each of them, portraying how Archie is eternally stuck in a love-triangle with both.
While the trio groove along to the track, the background dancers, including Mihir Ahuja’s Jughead Jones, are seen indulging in a retro salsa-style dance. The music video also reveals that the trailer for The Archies will be unveiled on November 9.
Composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Va Va Voom has been penned by Javed Akhtar. It is sung by Tejas Menon, who also lent his vocals for Sunoh, the first track from The Archies which came out on October 19.
Zoya shared a reel of the song with her followers on Instagram. “You are just so Va Va Voom! 💋,”the 51-year-old filmmaker wrote in the caption.
Set in the hill station of Riverdale in 1964, The Archies is an adaptation of the popular US comics series of the same name. The film marks a number of acting debuts including those of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya.
The Archies will premiere on Netflix on December 7.
