It takes highly stylised choreography with roller-skates and a peppy tune for Suhana Khan and Khushi Kapoor to seduce Agastya Nanda into throes of fantasy in the Dhishoom Dhishoom music video, dropped by Sony Music India on Sunday as the third track from Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming Netflix film The Archies.
The two-minute-16-second-long video opens with Sunaha’s Veronica and Khushi’s Betty, both clad in white-and-black mini dresses, at the skating rink. Agastya’s Archie soon makes his entry in a swivel chair. The song seems to be Veronica and Betty’s way of making Archie pay the price for two-timing them both, leaving him high and dry at the end of it as he apologises to the girls. Jughead, played by Mihir Ahuja, is in the audience and seems afraid for Archie as he could anticipate the outcome of the dance session from the very beginning.
Zoya shared a reel of the song on Instagram on Sunday. “Get Your Red Lips On💋 Dishoom Dishoom 🥊 Out Now 💥#redlipsandrollerskates💋,” she wrote in the caption.
Composed by Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Dhishoom Dhishoom has been penned by Zoya’s father Javed Akhtar. It is sung by Kelly Dlima and Aditi Dot, who plays the role of Ethel Muggs in the upcoming film.
Set in the hill station of Riverdale in 1964, The Archies is an adaptation of the popular US comics series of the same name. The film marks a number of acting debuts including those of Shah Rukh Khan’s daughter Suhana and Amitabh Bachchan’s grandson Agastya.
The Archies will premiere on Netflix on December 7.
