Actor Vijay's Leo has cruised past the Rs 500-crore mark at the global box office, becoming the third Tamil film to do so after Rajinikanth’s 2.0 (Rs 783 crore) and Jailer (Rs 604 crore).
The Lokesh Kanagaraj-helmed actioner is now the fifth Indian movie to hit the global milestone in 2023. It is in elite company with Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan (Rs 1050 crore) and Jawan (Rs 1150 crore), Sunny Deol's Gadar 2 (Rs 691 crore) and Rajinikanth’s Jailer being the other movies that achieved the feat earlier this year.
Leo has also earned Rs 285 crore nett in India so far and is expected to cross the Rs 300-crore nett mark at the domestic box office this week.
Already emerging as the highest-grossing film in Thalapathy Vijay’s illustrious career, Leo finds itself locked in a fierce box office battle with Rajinikanth's latest blockbuster, Jailer. The race is on to see if Leo would be able to surpass Jailer’s global collection.
