Shahid Kapoor’s robotics expert falls in love with a humanoid robot played by Kriti Sanon, building the plot for an ‘impossible love story’ in upcoming romantic comedy Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya trailer, filled with humorous one-liners and high-energy dance sequences.

Dropped by the makers on Thursday, the two-minute-56-second-long trailer begins with Shahid and Kriti meeting for the first time in a foreign location and engaging in a flirtatious conversation. Impressed by her qualities, Shahid, who plays a robotics expert, brings her home to India and introduces her to his family.

However, things take a turn when Shahid’s aunt (Dimple Kapadia), who is a scientist by profession, enters their lives and figures out that Kriti is a robot. Shahid finds himself in a difficult situation as he cannot understand how he fell in love with a robot.

Veteran actor Dharmendra plays Shahid’s grandfather in the film, while Rakesh Bedi plays the role of his father.

The film, touted as ‘the biggest family entertainer of the year’, is helmed by the director duo Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah.

With its nod to Joaquin Phoenix’s 2013 film Her, in which the Hollywood actor fell in love with an AI assistant, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is a break from Shahid’s recent works in the thriller series Farzi and Bloody Daddy. The trailer also reminds one of the 2010 sci-fi film Enthiran where Rajinikanth’s life-like robot created by a scientist (also played by Rajinikanth) fell in love with the latter’s girlfriend (Aishwarya Rai Bachchan).

Also touted as an ‘impossible love story’, Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha derives its name from the 2004 song Teri Baaton by Raghav, a new version of which is expected to be incorporated into the film.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha marks the first collaboration between Shahid and Kriti. Produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film was initially slated to release in October 2023. However, after facing several delays, it is finally releasing in theatres on February 9.
