Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon-starrer Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya (TBMAUJ) has ended the second week of its theatrical run in India with a collection of Rs 66 crore nett, according to industry data-tracking website Sacnilk.
TBMAUJ began its journey with a decent opening on February 9, collecting Rs 6.7 crore nett on first Friday. The film improved its tally over the first weekend, earning Rs 9.65 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 10.75 on Sunday. However, the earnings took a hit during the weekdays, with a total collection of Rs 44.35 crore nett at the end of Week 1.
The second week began with an earning of Rs 2.85 crore nett on the second Friday, followed by Rs 11 crore nett over the weekend. TBMAUJ minted Rs 2.25 crore nett on the second Monday, followed by Rs 2 crore nett on second Tuesday, Rs 1.85 crore nett on second Wednesday and Rs 1.70 crore nett on second Thursday.
TBMAUJ now faces a slew of new releases like Yami Gautam’s Article 370 and Vidyut Jammwal-starrer Crakk, which are likely to make a dent in the film’s earnings. However, PVR-INOX’s Cinema Lovers Day offer on February 23 — Rs 99 per ticket — is likely to boost the sales, as per trade experts.
Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya revolves around an engineer (Shahid Kapoor) who falls in love with a robot (Kriti Sanon). Helmed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, the romcom features Dimple Kapadia, Rakesh Bedi, Anubha Fatehpura and Ashish Verma in key roles.
