An unexpected romance brews between Ileana D’cruz’s dark-skinned Lovely and Randeep Hooda’s dauntless police officer in the official trailer of Tera Kya Hoga Lovely, dropped by production house Sony Pictures Films India on Tuesday.
The two-minute-41-second-long trailer sheds light on societal problems like the dowry system and society’s obsession with a woman's skin tone. Rejected by multiple suitors on account of her dark skin, Lovely at last sees a glimmer of hope when one of the prospective grooms considers marrying her. The catch? The boy’s family demands double dowry.
The situation is further complicated when the dowry gets stolen, prompting the entry of Randeep’s police officer who boasts a 100 per cent success rate. Confident that his deafening blows can elicit the truth from anyone, Randeep embarks on a mission to apprehend the thieves. In the process, however, he falls in love with Lovely. Their relationship, however, is anything but smooth sailing.
Packed with humorous dialogues, the trailer promises a light and sparkling comedy that looks askance at societal practices prevalent especially in the northern part of the country.
Directed by Balwinder Singh Janjua, Tera Kya Hoga Lovely also features Pavan Malhotra, Rajendra Gupta, Karan Kundra, Geetika Vidya Ohlyan and Geeta Agrawal Sharma in key roles.
Tera Kya Hoga Lovely will hit the screens on March 8.
