The makers of Dev’s Durga Puja release Tekka have appealed to the audience, media and reviewers to abstain from sharing spoilers.
“We know the story will keep you on the edge of your seats, and we request your kind cooperation in helping us maintain the excitement for all viewers. Please do not share any spoilers after watching the film. Let everyone experience the twists and surprises as they unfold. Your support in keeping the surprise intact will enhance the enjoyment for others who are yet to watch it,” a statement from the makers read.
Team Tekka also urged viewers to “strictly refrain from engaging in or supporting piracy”, adding that “unauthorised distribution not only hurts the producers but also compromises the quality of film-watching experience”.
“Let’s stand together to support the film industry by watching films through legal and authorised platforms only… Hope you enjoy every moment of this thrilling journey,” the statement further said.
Directed by Srijit Mukherji, Tekka revolves around a man named Iqlakh (Dev), who kidnaps a young girl in desperation after he loses his job. As the police team led by Maya (Rukmini Maitra) try to negotiate a deal with him, the situation deteriorates after the girl’s mother Ira (Swastika Mukherjee) takes Iqlakh’s son hostage.
Tota Roy Choudhury, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Sujan Mukherjee and Aryann Bhowmik round out the ensemble cast of the film.
Tekka will be facing off against Nandita Roy and Shiboprosad Mukherjee’s Bohurupi at the box office. Starring Abir Chatterjee, Ritabhari Chakraborty and Koushani Mukherjee, the chase thriller revolves around a bank dacoit played by Shibiprosad.
Pathikrit Basu’s Shastri, starring Mithun Chakraborty, Debasree Roy, Soham Chakraborty and Saswata Chatterjee, will also release in theatres on October 8.
