Last year, the makers had dropped a teaser titled Where is Pushpa to build the anticipation for Pushpa 2: The Rule. The three-minute-14-second video showed Pushpa, having escaped from Tirupati jail, sustained gunshot wounds during the escape. As word of Pushpa’s escape spreads rapidly, enraged people take to the streets in protest. Meanwhile, footage from a tiger-trap camera inside a forest reveals that Pushpa is alive.

The teaser culminates with Pushpa, clad in his characteristic shirt and trousers, seated on a chair, declaring, “It’s time for Pushpa's reign.”

Apart from Allu Arjun, Pushpa 2: The Rule boasts a stellar cast including Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, who are reprising their roles as the female lead and antagonist from the previous film.

The action thriller helmed by Sukumar also features Dhanunjay, Rao Ramesh, Suneel, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Ajay Ghosh in prominent roles. The film’s music is composed by Devi Sri Prasad, with cinematography by Miroslaw Kuba Brozek and editing by Karthika Srinivas.

Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to lock horns with Rohit Shetty’s highly anticipated cop universe film Singham Again at the box office on Independence Day.
